Electric Stack Summer Fellows // 2026

Spend your summer building on the Electric Stack.

Impulse, Westmag, and Gigascale Capital are teaming up this summer to support a small group of builders and researchers working on serious projects in batteries, power electronics, motors, embedded compute, and the products built on top of them.

You might be:

  • A student (college or grad school)
  • A researcher
  • An early-career builder

Selected fellows get:

  • Access to the Impulse and Westmag San Francisco office (including many snacks and a very dope stove to cook on)
  • A dedicated desk
  • A chance to work alongside two of the most cracked hardware teams in the Bay
  • Time and mentorship from the Gigascale team, including from Schrep (Mike Schroepfer) himself
  • The opportunity for up to $500K in investment from Gigascale Capital in companies started as part of the fellowship*

What you don’t get:

  • Upfront money / a stipend from us

What we’re looking for

The Electric Stack is the small set of core technologies — batteries, motors and actuators, power electronics, and embedded compute — that increasingly underlie everything from EVs to drones to robots to appliances. We want to host people working on any layer of that stack, or on integrated electric products built on top of it. Deeply technical work and product-shaped work are equally welcome. The bar is that you’re actually building.
